MN-S Governance Structure
MN-S Annual General Assembly
♦ Composed of all Métis citizens who choose to attend
♦ Developed to allow Métis citizens to voice their opinions on legislative issues
♦ Allow Métis citizens to vote on constitutional amendments
♦ The General Assembly must ratify all constitutional amendments.
MN-S Legislative Assembly
♦ The MNLA is composed of Local Presidents and members of the PMC
♦ Senate attends with voice but no vote
♦ Also includes representation from Métis Women and Métis youth
♦ Supreme governing authority of the Métis Nation-Saskatchewan
♦ MNLA has the authority to develop and authorize legislation, regulations and rules of conduct
♦ MNLA directs the affairs of the Métis Nation-Saskatchewan.
